Live Performance: Peter Himmelman & Philip Nelson “Racing off to Nowhere”
During the “Hollywood Helps Alabama Tornado Relief” live from the ACME Theater in Hollywood, Peter Himmelman called me out on state to sing a song with him. Naturally, I didn’t know the lyrics and had to go to my trusty iPhone to look them up.. YEP.. Busted in front of 50,000 online viewers.

SXSW Rejects UNITE!!
Submitted for a showcase at SXSW… Got my rejection letter today…
“RE: Philip Nelson
Dear Philip,
Thank you for applying to perform at SXSW. This year, SXSW Music received and reviewed over 10,000 submissions from bands all over the world. Unfortunately, this means that SXSW must turn down many artists.
With that in mind, SXSW will be unable to offer Philip Nelson a showcase this year. Please be assured that the materials were given full consideration.”
Guess that means I hit plan B!… Anyone that knows me KNOWS I don’t take no for an answer when it comes to things like this!

Better than Bieber?
Got a great message from Amy Vallery tonight about my CD.
“Jesse and I listen to your cd every morning on the way to school. We both love it , and Jesse said the other morning , I think I love Philip’s cd just as well as Justin Biebers!!!! I love it!!”
BTW: Jesse is Amy’s 5 year old son. LOL!
